The Jintai Network Symphony installation was launched at “THE BODY – Challenging the Mystery” exhibition held at the National Museum of Nature and Science in March 2018. Visitors were invited to experience the beautiful and complex network found inside the human body reproduced using cutting-edge science.
As part of the creative and production team, our role was to design the physical attractions and develop a website for visitors to virtually explore a 3D visualization of the human body network on PC.
The NHK TV program “The Body (Jintai)” introduced us to a scientific discovery where every organ and cell within our body exchanges “messenger substances,” almost as if they are talking with each other. This information network sustains our life and health.
“NETWORK SYMPHONY” allows you to experience this “exchange of messages” between organs as if you are immersed in the human body network.
Inside the booth, major organs such as the heart, kidneys, and brain appear to float in space. Beneath each organ, you can hear messages like “I’m tired, it’s tough” or “Food is coming!” These messages are transmitted to other organs through “messenger substances” depicted as vividly colored light particles.
The overlapping messages from various organs create what could be described as a “bodily symphony,” producing beautiful music. Combined with the colors and sounds, this creates a mystical space, illustrating the body’s internal network.
