We created the renewed “Geo-Scope,” a permanent exhibition at Miraikan—one of Japan’s leading science museums—along with “Geo-Online,” a web platform that brings the experience online.

[Geo-Scope]
The renewed Geo-Scope exhibition introduces eight new datasets—including global electricity consumption and atmospheric aerosol concentration—bringing the total to 20 visualizations of Earth-related data.
Designed for intuitive interaction, the exhibition allows visitors to freely explore Earth-scale data at their fingertips without requiring specialized knowledge.
One of the five terminals features the “Enjoy Geo-Scope by Sound” mode, which translates data into sound. This enables visitors with visual impairments—as well as a wider range of audiences—to experience scientific data through listening, creating a more inclusive exhibition.
[Geo-Online]
Three web experiences bring the science to you—whether or not you visit in person.
– Geo-Scope Inquiry Mode
Designed for middle and high school inquiry-based learning. Students explore 20 datasets with dedicated worksheets, guiding them toward the first step of research: defining a question.

– Geo-Cosmos Online
Visualizes atmospheric cloud movements using weather satellite data. Seven days of archived data can be freely explored through zooming, rotation, and panning.

– Geo-Scope Online
Provides access to 20 types of Earth-related data, including climate change projections and global electricity consumption.
