RakugakiAR is an app designed to make something we’ve all imagined a reality: “What if my drawings came to life…?”
Just draw in a notebook, on a whiteboard, or on any other kind of surface, then scan your drawing with the app to bring it to life, and you can walk through a virtual space with your smartphone. Once your drawings are alive, you can try feeding them, poking them, or even teasing them a little.
The iOS version was released on August 1, 2020 (Sat). Since then, top manga artists and illustrators made social posts using the app, and it achieved over 460 thousand download counts in five days. Also #6 in the Twitter Trends, #1 in Top Overall Paid Apps in App Store (iPhone) in 8 countries/regions (Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thai, Indonesia). More than 50 Web media and several TV shows featured the app, both inside and outside Japan.
