Ting-Chi received her MA in Museum Studies from New York University. Prior to founding Local Methodology in 2014, she interned and worked at several museums in New York City, such as the Brooklyn Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Museum of Chinese in America, and served at the Department of Cultural Affairs at Taipei City Government and the curatorial firm Archicake Design in Taipei after returning to Taiwan. In 2018, Ting-Chi started working with Party Taipei (predecessor of Whatever Taipei) as a project-based producer. In 2020, she officially joined Whatever as a Co-creator.
After working at McKinsey as a management consultant in Japan, the U.S. and Europe, he became an independent consultant, supporting corporate transformations. In 2014, he joined TBWA HAKUHODO and founded its startup studio, QUANTUM, where he worked as a CSO and CIO in charge of joint business development and investment with corporates and startups.
He also has experience in social, public, and academic sectors, such as establishing a foundation to support the leadership development of youth affected by disasters, initiating the Ministry of Education’s first public-private collaboration “Tobitate! Study Abroad Initiative” and supporting the SDGs Design Unit as a visiting associate professor at Kyushu University.
He has been with Whatever since 2020, leading the transformation strategy and investment. He is currently a partner at the design firm KESIKI INC. and a Hakuhodo Fellow, as well as a member of the jury and unit leader of the Good Design Award.
Ikue initially earned her degree in Architecture/Timber Engineering from The Vienna University of Technology and has both studied and worked in a design capacity in the U.S., Italy, Germany, and Austria. She came back to Japan in 2010, and worked at Gensler Tokyo office, a global architectural design firm. In 2015, she joined her current company Makeshift, and has been working as a CEO and design consultant for wide range of projects including workplace design, community spaces, and exhibitions, etc
